myON - A new Home to School Literacy Connection

Purpose:  Continuing to engage students in rich text to develop their literacy skills is a critical component of creating students who love reading and the foundation of our Reading and Writing program.  Independence, choice and stamina are powerful components of building a strong reading life.   These skills empower our children to become responsible for their own learning and encourage them to immerse themselves in stories, nonfiction text and poems.  

To continue supporting and build these literacy skills at home, we have purchased a software program called myON. This web-based program is easy to use, rich in resources and filled with stories students can access both at school and at home.  Each student has created an account during their library time.  

How to Use:

myON is available for online reading anywhere and anytime. Your children can read online using any Internet-enabled device. They can read offline using free mobile apps for iPad, Android, Chrome and Kindle Fire HD.
